Introducing new models and accessories that offer HF RFID, wristband printing, and enhanced mobility

TSC Auto ID, a global leader in automatic identification and data capture (AIDC) and thermal label printing technologies, announces new models and accessories that further expand the scope of the TH DH Series, including 2-inch 6.5-inch OD (outer diameter) direct thermal printers with optional HF RFID functionality and a battery station for the TH DH Series. In addition, following the release of 4-inch TH Series UHF RFID models, standard 4-inch TH Series can now also incorporate RAIN RFID functionality with new UHF RFID upgrade kits. These additions fulfil the growing demand for printing diverse and application-specific media while enhancing adaptability across multiple industries and working environments.

 

Boost Operational Efficiency with Larger Media Rolls

The new 2-inch DH Series 6.5-inch OD direct thermal printers support larger media rolls, ideal for high-volume wristband printing in industries such as healthcare and entertainment. They are available in standard and healthcare-grade versions, with the option of an LED or LCD display. Healthcare models inherit TH DH Series features, including disinfectant-ready plastic, easy-to-clean surfaces, and sealed button interfaces—perfect for clinical environments. They are fully compatible with existing upgradable accessories in the 2-inch DH Series for maximum versatility.

The printers are equipped with a Save Labels feature, which automatically aligns media to the vertical starting point for printing. This does away with manual label alignment and feeding after installation, reducing setup time and eliminating wasted labels associated with printing position alignment.

 

Expand Smart Printing Applications with HF RFID

2-inch DH Series 6.5-inch OD printers can also be equipped with HF RFID functionality by adding a HF RFID upgrade kit. HF RFID enables short-range identification—enhancing traceability while ensuring data security. It is ideal for applications such as blood bag labels, patient wristbands, and wristbands for the entertainment industry.

Two HF RFID upgrade kits will be available—one with a tear configuration and one with a cutter configuration. The kits comply with ISO/IEC 15693, ISO/IEC 14443 Type A, and ISO/IEC 18092 standards, and incorporate TSC Auto ID’s signature RFID features: Encode During Print and Auto Calibration, boosting efficiency. They can be added to standard 6.5-inch OD printers, reflecting the series’ future-proof design and ability to expand in functionality without requiring printer replacement.

 

Work Untethered with a Battery Station 

In addition to printers, TSC Auto ID is also offering a new detachable battery station accessory. Labelling operations may encounter situations where a desktop printer is needed, but power outlets are inaccessible. A detachable battery station brings mobility to TH DH Series desktop printers, enabling on-the-spot printing and eliminating the need for trips back and forth to a fixed printing station, thereby maximizing efficiency. The station’s high-capacity 4,000mAh (86Wh) battery supports printing of up to 40,000 inches* of media on a single charge, ensuring uninterrupted operations. Moreover, its swappable smart battery, equipped with a Battery Management System (BMS), enables status monitoring via printers, TSC Console, and TSC Console Web for efficient management.

 

A Truly Comprehensive Desktop Printer Line-up

Standard 4-inch TH Series printers can now take advantage of RAIN RFID with a UHF RFID upgrade kit—a tear or cutter configuration variant. Moreover, the product line is further expanded with the introduction of LED-only models in the 4-inch DH Series and 2-inch TH Series—ideal for simpler labelling applications where minimal configuration is required.

With the addition of new models, a battery station, and upgrade kits, the TH DH Series now supports an even broader range of applications. It can meet diverse operational needs and stands as the most comprehensive desktop printer line within the TSC Auto ID portfolio.
